Ronald McDonald House Charities Event

Well its official, we had our very first collective event as an organization! We were so excited to officially host an event, and even for more excited to have hosted it at Ronald McDonald House Northern Alberta. The event took place on this past Sunday (March 25, 2018) and we had 12 amazing volunteers come out and take time out of their schedules to make a meal for families in need.

Ronald McDonald House provides accommodations and meals, among many other programs for families with a critically ill or injured child receiving treatment within Edmonton. The house is almost solely run on community volunteers and donations, and provides support to 32 families staying within the house. Youthnited Nations was so incredibly excited to go to the house and make pizza, salads, and an ice cream sundae bar (yum!!).

If you're wondering why we chose to focus on Ronald McDonald House (other than the fact that its an amazing charity), it was our event for the Month of March which we chose to focus on Sustainable Development Goal 17!

Goal 17 is focused on Partnerships for the Goals, which means we need ALL people from ALL areas to come together to make change. This includes governments, civil society, academia, science, and private sectors in both developed and underdeveloped countries. If you want to learn more, read our other blog post on SDG 17!

If you want to get involved in future events, check out our get involved page, and as always feel free to send us an email at youthnitednations@gmail.com.

Ps - thank you so much to all of our amazing volunteers that came out on Sunday to make a delicious meal for some very special families!
